Solar Panels NZ is a New Zealand home solar company. We publish a fixed installed price for standard systems with the payback maths underneath, sign one contract with you, and have a registered electrician from a partner installer do the work. You pay the balance once it's on and certified.

Why does Solar Panels NZ exist?
Because solar in New Zealand is usually sold either as a lead form or from behind a free home visit, and neither gives you a price you can budget against. We publish a fixed installed price for standard systems, the payback maths under it, and a clear answer to when you pay.
If you search for solar in New Zealand you find two kinds of site. Quote sites have useful numbers but don't do the job; they pass your details to several installers who then call you. Installers do the job but mostly hide the price behind a free home visit.
We wanted what we'd want for our own house: a price we can budget and borrow against, the assumptions behind the saving, and a clear answer to “when do I pay, and what protects me?” SolarZero's liquidation in December 2024 made that last question matter.
How do you choose installers?
We subcontract one installer per region, and before signing one we ask for EWRB-registered electricians, SOLASSURE certification or evidence they are working towards it, current public liability insurance, trade prices for our standard packages so we can publish a fixed price, and a workmanship warranty we can pass through to you.

We're signing installers now. Each one is named on how it works before that region takes deposits. Are you an installer? Work with us.
What won't you do?
We won't sell your details as a “free quote” lead, push a battery the numbers don't support, offer leases or subscriptions, or publish a figure without saying where it came from. Every price on this site names its source and the date it was checked.
